Corporate Courses

PNL 4WDriving runs 4WDrive courses for corporate customers on the same lines as our Intermediate 4WDrive & Recovery courses (see below). These cover training not only in the basic 4WDriving skills but also first hand experience in bush driving and recovery techniques. The course progresses from an introduction on the first day to amongst other things, on the second day, a night drive, recovery work, sand, rock, snow (in the right season) and water crossings and further experience in the bush.

Since PNL 4WDriving is a Registered Training Organization (RTO), successful participants are issued with Statements of Attainments that are Nationally Recognised. Along with providing training that can meet your Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) needs, we also include team building.

PNL 4WDriving also conduct Chainsaw courses (see below).

Corporate individuals are able to join existing Public courses or other Corporate courses. Alternatively you can schedule and design a course that is tailored to meet your specific needs.

Defensive Driving Courses can also be arranged for Corporate clients.

Introduction to 4WDriving Course

Our One Day course introduces you to PNL and 4WDriving. The course includes specialized driving techniques, instruction on obstacles and bush driving with ample practice, theory and a great experience.

You are given the opportunity to ask questions and learning is held in an easy going and informative environment. Our courses are designed to give you the maximum knowledge for the course taken with the maximum enjoyment in the process.

Intermediate 4WDrive & Recovery Course

Intermediate 4WDrive courses comprise two day overnight training which includes basic skills and also FIRST HAND experience in bush driving and recovery techniques. The two day course continues on from the Introduction course and on the second day includes, amongst other things, a night drive, recovery work, sand, rock, snow (season permitting), water crossings and further experience in the bush.

Theory work is interspersed with practical experience that gives you greater understanding of what is being talked about. A handbook is also included to give you the ability to refresh your memory and as a useful reference guide.

Successful participants are issued with an Accredited Statement of Attainment which is Nationally Recognised along with a Certificate which can be used as a professional accredited skill for your work if needed.

Advanced Courses

Advanced 4WDrive & Recovery Course

Build your existing knowledge and skills with this Nationally Recognised Course. This course has an emphasis on safety and advanced recovery techniques using a terrain with a greater degree of difficulty whilst gaining the following competencies:

SRODRV003B Coordinate Recovery of a 4WD Using Advanced Techniques

Two days of learning safe use of winching and other recovery techniques in a variety of advanced situations and puts into practice the techniques needed for the steeper, slippery, and deeper types of country - basically a rougher terrain. Successful applicants will be issued with an Accredited Statement of Attainment and a Certificate.
(Also useful if going on to complete Instructor qualifications)

Sand Driving

Conducted either in South Australia or NSW.
A Fabulous 2 day weekend or midweek during which you
will experience and practice the techniques for both beach and inland Dune sand driving and recovery
whilst obtaining FPIFGM3208A Perform Complex 4x4 Operations

Update/Refresher Course

If it is more than three years since you completed your 4WDrive or Chainsaw course, we suggest you return for an update or refresher to keep your certificate and knowledge current. A 1 day update/refresher course start 9:00am finishing up approximately 4:00pm (unless night drive is required). Mostly driving and recovery.

Snow Driving Course

2 Day overnight camping at Valley Farm. Start with learning how to fit wheel chains then go for a
drive on tracks that are covered in snow.

Vehicle Maintenance (including minor Vehicle Servicing)

A weekend based at Narbethong using RB Automotives workshop and the services of a fully qualified mechanic. Spending time identifying parts and items on your 4WDrive that need regular maintenance. Course covers minor servicing, minor repairs, preventive checks for travellers and field repairs.
Learn how to fix and/or replace items from a light globe or fan belt to a broken spring. Check for ‘bad’ fuel and sufficient diff oils.

Small classes 6-8 vehicles

First Aid Course

4WDrivers 1st Aid Course Level 2 Accredited by Rural Ambulance Victoria . Designed with standard
first aid course and special remote modules included for the 4WDriver. Great for beginners or for those
who need to update their qualifications. 2 Day weekend course at Valley Farm.
Remote 1st Aid, a must
for 4WDrivers and anyone that it takes longer than 10 minutes for an ambulance to get to you!

Certificate 4 in Workplace Training and Assessment

This course enables people to train and assess others in their workplace or outside. Formal qualification
classes are held on a regular basis in the evenings or on a full day (usually Sunday) once a month.
Classes are done with 4WDrive flavour and you actually get to teach real people real 4WDriving.

Instructor Course

The modular course that can be done over a 12-18 months period, designed to fit in with your schedule. When completed it gives a Nationally recognized (University Type) qualification for those wanting the formal qualification for a 4WDrive Instructor.
You can step from this to a 4WDrive Certificate 4 or Diploma level for those people wanting to lead trips, guide tours or operate 4WD tours and teach 4WD to others.

TAG-A-LONG TRIPS

The Tag-a-long Trips are held every 2 years and head off to various locations around Australia.... North, South, East, West and Central.

Location: Heading inland up the east to The Gulf and returning east central (full route available)

DAY/WEEKEND TRIPS FROM MELBOURNE

Our Day/Weekend Trips are very enjoyable where you will find good company, practise some skills and get into some great 4WDriving. With a maximum group of 10 vehicles we plan to explore some 4WDrive tracks within an hour or so from Melbourne covering interesting terrain that will be easy for some, challenging for others. Meeting at 8.45am on the day at a designated location we will head off 4WDriving -– have lunch – then some more 4WDriving in the afternoon, finishing around 4pm.

City Driving in your 4WD

Have you just acquired a 4WD (or your partner has) and you are not interested in off-road driving but just need to feel comfortable driving in the city. We can provide an instructor that will help you get comfortable with your new vehicle, it's size, manoeuvrability and how to park it.

L PLATER Course

Specially designed for those who recently obtained their ‘L Plates’. Designed to teach the correct techniques so they can practice driving in ALL conditions in ‘the’ 4WDrive.

An adult/guardian must accompany the ‘L Plater’ while driving but is a fantastic, fun time for both participants.

Chainsaw Trim and Cross Cut

PNL 4WDriving will equip you with skills and knowledge in the proper use of a chainsaw on this
2 day Chainsaw Course. Upon completion gain FPICOT2221A Trim and Cross Cut Felled Trees with a Registered Training Organisation (RTO # 20810) on this Nationally Recognised Course.
