The PNL 4WDriving Advanced 4WDrive & Recovery Course is a comprehensive 3-day face-to-face training program, including evening sessions on Day 1 and Day 2.

This course builds upon the foundational skills developed in the Intermediate 4WDrive & Recovery Course and focuses on:

• Advanced vehicle handling

• Complex recovery techniques

• Field maintenance and minor mechanical repairs

What You’ll Learn

This nationally accredited course develops the skills and knowledge required to:

• Select and apply the appropriate gear range and driving techniques to safely navigate difficult terrain and water crossings

• Coordinate advanced 4WD vehicle recoveries using snatch straps, winches, jacks, and other specialised recovery equipment

• Perform basic maintenance and minor repairs to keep vehicles operational in remote or off-road conditions

Application of the course

This course is designed for anyone who operates a four-wheel drive vehicle in challenging or remote environments — whether for leisure or work.

It’s equally valuable for:

• Recreational 4WD drivers who want to improve their skills, explore tougher terrain, or travel more confidently and safely

• Adventure travellers and tourers preparing for extended or remote off-road trips

• 4WD club members and enthusiasts looking to increase their recovery knowledge and capability

While many of our participants are recreational users, the course is designed to meet the needs of both personal and professional drivers, providing a solid foundation in advanced 4WD handling, recovery, and field maintenance.

Pre-Requisites:

To enrol in this course, you must have completed the Intermediate 4WDrive & Recovery Course.
