This course, also known as the Chainsaw Trim and Cut Felled Trees Course, teaches you how to safely and efficiently operate and maintain a chainsaw—an essential skill when a fallen tree blocks your path during 4WD adventures. You will learn to assess fallen trees by identifying compression and tension stresses, enabling you to decide whether it’s safe to clear the track yourself or if you should report the obstruction to the authorities.
Safety is the highest priority: if clearing the tree is beyond your training or abilities, it’s always best to be cautious and seek professional assistance.
This training is specifically tailored for 4WD driving situations, where timber production is not the primary objective.
Application of the course
Participants will gain practical skills in trimming and cutting felled trees with a chainsaw across various settings, including:

Emergency services
